Harry Brook reveals England decided on an aggressive approach after Jasprit Bumrah’s over.
England’s middle-order batsman Harry Brook has opened up on the tussle between India and England players during the previous test at Lord’s. The third game between the two teams witnessed multiple confrontations between players of both sides.
Indian skipper Shubman Gill had a verbal altercation with England openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett during the last over on day three. The fight occurred after Crawley called the team physio on the field by faking an injury, which Gill perceived as a trick to waste time.
Brydon Carse had a verbal altercation with Ravindra Jadeja when the latter collided with him while running between the wickets. Moreover, Indian and England fielders also threw a lot of comments at batsmen during the encounter, which England ultimately won by just 22 runs.

We try to play in the spirit of the game as much as possible – Harry Brook
While speaking about the Lord’s test, Brook said that England always try to play with the spirit of the game. However, they were triggered after Bumrah’s over and planned for an aggressive show in the second innings.
“We try to play in the spirit of the game as much as possible. We saw that single over from Bumrah and he struck on the shoulder. That is when we decided to reassess the situation and have a go at India. It’s been a bit of fun. We saw it at Lord’s 11 (India) vs 2 (England)”, he was quoted as saying by Sportstak.
Meanwhile, Brook has shown decent form in the series. At an average of 52.33, the right-handed batsman has mustered 314 runs in six innings. He has also hammered one century and one half-century in the series.
India and England are pulling their socks up for the fourth test, which will begin on July 23 at Old Trafford, Manchester. England lead the series 2-1 and need one more victory to win the series. India will look to script history in Manchester as they have never defeated England in a test match at the venue.
