The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is just one day away. Ahead of the tournament, India suffered a major blow. According to reports, Indian star fast bowler Harshit Rana has been ruled out of the World Cup.

India will start their World Cup campaign against the USA on February 7 in Mumbai, and this is a huge blow to their chances. Harshit had suffered an injury during India’s warm-up game against South Africa on Wednesday, February 4, at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Rana was concerned during his over, pulling out of his delivery stride twice. Moments later, he was spotted clutching his knee and staggering off the field, raising concerns among teammates and support personnel. Harshit conceded 16 runs in a solitary over in India’s warm-up game, during which his struggles were evident.

The latest concern arises as India continues to monitor Washington Sundar, who has yet to join the World Cup squad after sustaining an injury during the opening ODI match against New Zealand.

Harshit Rana ruled out the T20 World Cup!

According to reports, a clinical assessment conducted the following day showed swelling in Harshit’s right knee, difficulty with movement, and pain in the lateral joint line.

A subsequent scan confirmed a lateral meniscus tear, which is why on February 6, Rana was advised to undergo surgery. Now it has been confirmed that Rana’s injury is serious enough to be ruled out of the tournament.

“Harshit does not look good. We will know today,” India skipper Suryakumar Yadav had said during the captains’ press conference in Mumbai.
