India Women Cricket Team and wrestling with South Africa Women Cricket Team in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 final, which is currently being played at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. The match was delayed due to rain at the start, however, no overs were lost, which was a great news for the fans.

After being asked to bat first, India Women witnessed a dominating start with openers Smriti Mandhana (45) and Shafali Varma (87) taking on the South Africa bowlers, adding an opening stand of 104 runs. After that, Deepti Sharma (58*) and Richa Ghosh (34) batted brilliantly in the end, taking the team’s total to 298 runs.

The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side has showcased a wonderful batting performances in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. In the encounter against Australia Women, which also took place at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai, they chased a 339-run target by five wickets to script a historic victory.

With the win, India bagged the record for the highest successful run-chase in Women’s ODIs. However, the pressure of knockouts is completely differently and chasing the big target is always an uphill task. Even though South African batters have shown great performances in this tournament, they surely would be under pressure.

If we talk about the highest ever successful run-chase in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup finals, England women hold the record but if South Africa have to win the 2025 edition, they need to script history.
