The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is now India’s premier cricket venue. It was built on the same site as the old Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium and was inaugurated in 2021.
The new stadium overtook the Melbourne Cricket Ground to become the cricket ground with the highest seating capacity. It has four dressing rooms, 11 centre pitches, two practice grounds, and a seating capacity of 1,32,000.

Rohit Sharma starred for India in their 2023 World Cup league stage match against Pakistan in Ahmedabad.
Chasing a 192-run target, Rohit dominated and scored 86 off just 63 balls, including six fours and six sixes, to guide India to a comfortable seven-wicket victory.
4. Azmatullah Omarzai – 97* vs South Africa, 2023
Azmatullah Omarzai was Afghanistan’s top-scorer in their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 league match against South Africa at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
Coming in at No. 5, Omarzai scored 97* runs off 107 balls with seven fours and three sixes, helping his team post 244 runs.
Despite his efforts, Afghanistan lost the match by five wickets.
3. Rachin Ravindra – 123* vs England, 2023
The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 was a breakthrough tournament for Rachin Ravindra. Promoted to No. 3 in Kane Williamson’s absence, he made a big impact in the opening game, scoring an unbeaten 121 off 96 balls against England in Ahmedabad.
Chasing 283, he stitched an unbeaten 273-run partnership with Devon Conway for the second wicket, leading New Zealand to a comfortable win.
2. Travis Head – 137 vs India, 2023
Perhaps the most memorable innings of Travis Head’s career came during the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 final against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
Chasing a tricky 241-run target, Head demolished India, scoring 137 runs off 120 balls. His match-winning knock consisted of 15 fours and four sixes.
Head also became the third Australian batsman, after Ricky Ponting (2003) and Adam Gilchrist (2007), to score a century in an ODI World Cup final. He was named Player of the Match for his effort.
1. Devon Conway – 152* vs England, 2023
Devon Conway holds the record for the highest individual ODI score at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, for his unbeaten 152-run knock in the World Cup 2023 against England.
Chasing a challenging target of 283, Conway’s 152* guided the Kiwis to a comfortable nine-wicket victory. His impactful knock, which came in 121 balls, consisted of 19 fours and three sixes.
