Known for his composure in run-chases, Kohli scored an unbeaten 154 against New Zealand in Mohali in 2016.
Chasing a formidable target of 266, Kohli led India’s charge, smashing 154 off 134 balls, including 16 fours and a six. He was well supported by MS Dhoni, who scored 80 runs.
India won the game by seven wickets and Virat was named Player of the Match for his efforts.
4. 157* vs West Indies, Visakhapatnam, 2018
The India vs West Indies ODI in Visakhapatnam in 2018 is widely remembered for the dramatic last-ball tie and Shai Hope’s brave efforts in the chase.
What’s often forgotten is Virat Kohli’s brilliant unbeaten 157 off 129 balls, which included 13 fours and four sixes. The Delhi batter started slowly but later accelerated, helping India reach 321 on a sluggish pitch.
He was rewarded with the Player of the Match award.
3. 160* vs South Africa, Cape Town, 2018
Virat played a terrific knock of 160* runs against South Africa in Cape Town in 2018. Batting first, India made 303/6 on the back of Kohli’s 160* off 159 balls, which included 12 fours and two sixes.
Kohli added 140 runs with Shikhar Dhawan for the second wicket. India won the game by 124 runs and Virat was named Player of the Match.
2. 166* vs Sri Lanka, Thiruvananthapuram, 2023
One of Kohli’s most memorable ODI innings came in Thiruvananthapuram against Sri Lanka in 2023.
Kohli’s unbeaten 166-run knock, which consisted of 13 fours and eight sixes, propelled the hosts to a massive first-innings score of 390 runs. The Indian No. 3 was well supported by Shubman Gill, who racked up 116 runs to lay the foundation for the huge first innings score.
India won the game by a huge margin of 317 runs.
1. 183 vs Pakistan, Mirpur, 2012
Virat Kohli registered his highest ODI score of 183 during a group stage game of the Asia Cup 2012 against Pakistan in Mirpur.
Chasing 330, India lost opener Gautam Gambhir for a duck. Virat Kohli then added 133 runs with Sachin Tendulkar, followed by a 172-run stand with Rohit Sharma for the third wicket.
His knock, which had 22 fours and a six, helped India win the game by six wickets.
