Hotstar to stream ICC T20 World Cup 2024 for free on mobile

ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be streamed live on Disney+ Hotstar app.

The upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be hosted by West Indies and the USA. This is the third time that the Caribbean Islands will host a prestigious ICC event. For the first time in the USA, a premier ICC event will be held. Earlier West Indies alone hosted the ICC ODI World Cup in 2007 and the T20 World Cup 2010.

Disney+ Hotstar is the official broadcast partner of the coveted tournament. Hotstar has delivered a great news for the cricket fans as they will be covering the T20 World Cup for free on their mobile app. Hotstar has taken the decision after getting huge success in the previous two big events. They live streamed the Asia Cup 2023 and ICC World Cup 2023 without any subscription fee.

However, users on TV and laptops will have to pay a subscription fee to watch the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 action. Walt Disney Company and Reliance industries have announced a merger. Both companies have decided to merge their media operations in India. The entire value of this merger stands above Rs. 70,000 crore. Reliance and their affiliates will take a major share in the deal.

The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be played in June. Hosts United States of America will play against Canada in the World Cup opener at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas. India will play their opening game against Ireland at Nassau County Cricket Stadium in New York on 5th June. The big game between India and Pakistan will be played on 9th June.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) increased the number of teams in the T20 World Cup 2024. For the first time in an ICC tournament 20 teams will participate. The teams have been divided into four different groups of five teams each. The top two from each group will go ahead to play the Super 8s round. Super 8s round will also be played in two different groups. The final will be played in Barbados on 29th June.
