Cameron Green failed to make a mark with bat in KKR vs SRH game of IPL 2026.

Sunrisers Hyderadad (SRH) produced a splendid comeback after a disappointing outing in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 opener against reigning champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Led by their openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, the duo gave their team a headstart in the powerplay against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

However, Blessing Muzarabani struck twice in an over to get rid of the top-three. Just when the momentum seemed to tilt in the direction of the home team, Heinrich Klaasen struck a much-needed partnership alongside Nitish Reddy.

The pair helped SRH post a total of 226 on the board, despite Kartik Tyagi’s superb efforts in the death overs. In reply, KKR’s Finn Allen smashed 25 runs in the first over, but soon lost his wicket. Captain Ajinkya Rahane too failed to get going today, putting the team on the backfoot after starting the innings on a high.

KKR finished the powerplay with 74, their highest score in the first six overs against SRH. However, the end to the powerplay was a shocking one. In at number 4 today, Cameron Green arrived to the crease under immense pressure. The Australian plays every game with questions being asked over his place in the team and criticism over his heavy price tag.

While he was at the non-strikers end for the final delivery of the fifth over, batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi hit the ball straight back at bowler Eshan Malinga, who managed to half-stop the ball by getting his boot down at the last second.

However, Green at the non-striker end was blind-sided and kept running in the direction of the strikers end. Raghuvanshi was too late to send the Aussie back, and both were caught midway. The Mumbai batter was furious with Green and took the long walk back to pavilion. However, umpires stopped him near boundary ropes to check who actually was out.

Upon checking, it was evident that when Malinga broke the stumps, Green had not yet crossed past Raghuvanshi, and hence Green was adjudged out by TV Umpire Nitin Menon.
