Hardik Pandya suffered an ankle injury during IND vs BAN ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match.

The game between India and Bangladesh is underway at the MCA Stadium in Pune. Bangladesh have gotten off to a flying start and have scored 63 runs in the first ten overs, despite a slow start at the top. At one point, Bangladesh were 10/0 in five overs, but then both openers started to score regular boundaries.

At one end, Indian bowlers were leaking runs, and on the other hand, India had a massive injury scare when all-rounder Hardik Pandya suffered an ankle injury during the 9th over of the innings. The all-rounder walked off the field and couldn't even complete his full overs. Though there is no official statement from Indian camp, the injury looks serious.

It happened on the third ball of the ninth over, which was the first over for Hardik Pandya in this innings. He started with a dot for Litton Das. On the next ball, Das came down the track and lifted the ball over the covers for a boundary. On the third ball, Hardik bowled a full delivery, which was driven for a straight drive by the batter.

Hardik tried to stop the ball with his feet and fell down awkwardly in his follow-through. The ball went to the boundary, and Hardik Pandya was seen in pain. The physiotherapist came and checked on him. They taped his ankle, but Hardik was limping while trying to go back to his bowling mark. Thus, he decided to go out of the field, and Virat Kohli completed his over.

After six years, Virat bowled for the first time in an international match. He gave away two singles in the three balls he bowled. India pulled things back after a great start by Bangladesh, and after 20 overs, they were 110/2. It is an important game for India, and if they can win it, they will add two more points to the table.
