Pakistan lost to England in their second game of the Super 8 Round in the T20 World Cup 2026.

Pakistan find themselves in the a tricky phase after they lost to England by two wickets in their second match of the Super 8 round of the T20 World Cup 2026. Their qualification now seems very tricky as they hang by thread in the tournament.

Pakistan, who won the toss and opted to bat, failed to post a mammoth total on the board, reaching 164/9 with a lone half-century by opener Sahibzada Farhan. They started well with the ball as they reduced England to 58/4 with Shaheen Afridi taking three wickets in the first five overs.

However, captain Harry Brook, who took the new batting position at three, took the game away from Pakistan. He hit a magnificent century, which kept his team in the chase despite wickets falling at other end. Hitting 10 boundaries and four sixes, the right-handed batsman scored 100 runs off 51 deliveries.

With the win, England booked their berth for the semi-final, becoming the first team to do so.

After the loss, Pakistan are now placed in the second spot with one point. Their opening game against New Zealand was washed out due to rain.

Even after the defeat against England, Pakistan are active in the race for the semi-finals. However, their qualification isn’t in their hands now.

Along with winning their last match against Sri Lanka, they would want New Zealand to lose both of their next two matches against Sri Lanka and England. If that happens, the Salman Agha-led side will qualify for semi-final.

Also, if the Black Caps win only one match, both Pakistan and New Zealand will finish with three points each, and Net Run Rate (NRR) will come into effect. Moreover, if Sri Lanka win their next two games, both Pakistan and New Zealand will be eliminated.

Who is Pakistan’s captain in T20 World Cup 2026?

Salman Agha is leading the side in T20 World Cup 2026.

Are Pakistan out of T20 World Cup 2026?

No, Pakistan are still active in T20 World Cup 2026.
