Hyderabad crowd hit Prerak Mankad's head with nuts and bolts, reveals Jonty Rhodes
SRH vs LSG match was halted when some rogue fans threw nuts and bolts at LSG player Prerak Mankad.
Lucknow Super Giants had a great game against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Despite a great performance they had faced a few ugly instances in the game as well. The crowd was hostile in Hyderabad and behaved rogue during the game. Lucknow Super Giants players faced some inconvenience while fielding in the game. In the 19th over of the Sunrisers Hyderabad, someone from the crowd threw an object at Lucnkow’s Player of the Match Prerak Mankad. This also made the game stop for some time. Later on, the umpires intervened. Now Lucknow’s fielding coach Jonty Rhodes has tweeted about the incident.

For a few of the fans, the incident was not clear, one user tweeted that the crowd threw nuts and bolts towards the Lucknow Super Giants dugout. Replying to this Former South African batter Jonty Rhodes tweeted, “Not at the dugout, but at the players. They hit Prerak Mankad on the head while he was fielding at long on”. Prerak Mankad later went on to score a match-winning half-century against SRH. After this, a few members of the crowd also teased Lucknow’s mentor Gautam Gambhir. When Gambhir was walking back to the dugout a few members of the crowd chanted ‘Kohli… Kohli…’ at him.
In the 19th over of SRH’s innings, Avesh Khan bowled a high full toss, which was adjudged no-ball by on-field umpires. Later on, Lucknow got the decision reversed by the third umpire through DRS. Abdul Samad and Heinrich Klassen both protested the decision and they made umpires aware of their displeasure. After this Klassen smashed a boundary and the game was halted for some time. Later on, it was told that an object was thrown at the Lucknow dugout.
