India to face England and Netherlands as ICC announces ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 warm-up fixtures

India will be playing two warm-up matches ahead of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
As anticipation mounts for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India, cricket enthusiasts are eagerly gearing up for a week of intense warm-up fixtures that will set the stage for the main event. The official warm-up fixtures have been unveiled, featuring 10 participating teams engaging in a series of preparatory matches. These contests not only serve as opportunities for teams to fine-tune their strategies but also allow them to acclimatise to the conditions they will face during the World Cup.
The week leading up to the grand inauguration on October 5 will witness a flurry of warm-up fixtures in Guwahati, Hyderabad, and Thiruvananthapuram. From Friday, September 29 to Tuesday, October 3, each of the 10 teams will participate in two matches each. This provides a total of 20 warm-up matches that will offer fans a taste of the fierce competition and excitement that await.
India to play their warm-up games on 30th September and 3rd October
The fixtures have been strategically planned to allow teams to adapt to the playing conditions in different regions of India. On the opening day, Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka in Guwahati, South Africa will clash with Afghanistan in Thiruvananthapuram, and New Zealand will challenge Pakistan in Hyderabad. The action-packed schedule continues as reigning champions England will square off against hosts India in Guwahati, while Australia will take on the Netherlands in Thiruvananthapuram on the same day.
All games are scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. IST, and an interesting aspect is that teams will have the liberty to field all members of their 15-player squads during these matches. This will provide an opportunity for both established players and emerging talents to showcase their skills and form ahead of the main tournament.
