Both Australia and South Africa won their respective first matches of ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The seventh match of the ICC Champions Trophy, featuring South Africa and Australia, has been delayed due to rain in Rawalpindi.

The heavyweight clash is crucial as both Australia and South Africa won their respective opening games of the campaign, and a win today will take them a step closer to semi-finals.

Australia defeated arch-rivals England in Lahore by five wickets on February 22. Josh Inglis guided the Aussies to a mammoth 351-run chase with an unbeaten knock of 120 runs off just 86 balls.

South Africa, on the other hand, outplayed Afghanistan in Karachi in the third match of the tournament, winning by 107 runs. Youngster Ryan Rickelton was named Player of the Match for his 103-run knock.

While fans were eagerly waiting for a fierce battle between Australia’s in-form batting lineup and South Africa’s pace attack, the rain could potentially change the pitch conditions, offering more assistance to the seamers.

On that note, let’s take a look at how many points will Australia and South Africa share if their clash is washed out.

Both South Africa and Australia will get one point each if their match is washed out. As per ICC rules, the winner of every game in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will receive two points, while the loser gets zero. In case of no result, the points are shared between both teams.

If the match is washed out, it will severely impact the chances of both teams as England or Afghanistan can still potentially reach four points. Australia are set to face Afghanistan in their last group fixture on February 28 in Lahore, while South Africa will take on England in Karachi on March 1.
