Revealed: Is there a reserve day for ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final will be played on March 9 in Dubai.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has reached its final stage. The tournament final will take place on Sunday, March 9, between India and New Zealand.
Both India and New Zealand have been the most impressive teams in the tournament. India have remained unbeaten in the tournament so far with four wins from four games, while New Zealand’s only defeat came against India in their final group-stage match on March 2 at the same venue where the final will be played.
India have been led by their four-man spin attack, while New Zealand have relied on the pace trio of Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, and William O’Rourke, with Henry topping the chart with 10 wickets at an average of 16.
While the Dubai leg of the competition has gone smoothly, three group-stage matches in Pakistan – two in Rawalpindi and one in Lahore – were washed out due to rain and teams competing in those games shared one point each as there was no reserve day allotted to those games.
On that note, let’s take a look at whether there is a reserve day for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final.
Is there a reserve day for ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final
Yes, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final has a reserve day. If the match cannot be completed on Sunday, March 9, then Monday, March 10, will serve as the reserve day of the match. Additionally, both the original and reserve days will have an extra two hours of play to ensure the match is completed.
Additionally, the minimum overs per side required for a match has been increased to 25, which is five more from 20 during the group stage. If play is interrupted midway on March 9, it will resume from where it left off on March 10.
If the final is washed out on both days, the trophy will be shared between India and New Zealand. Fortunately, the weather in Dubai on March 9, Sunday, is expected to be clear with no chances of rain.
