The losers of AFG vs ENG match will be eliminated from the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The seventh match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will take place between Afghanistan and England at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday, February 26.

Both teams are coming to this contest after suffering defeats in their respective opening games of the tournament. Afghanistan were outplayed by South Africa in Karachi, losing the game by 107 runs, while England conceded the highest successful run-chase to Australia in Lahore.

Their problems worsened after the South Africa-Australia match in Rawalpindi was washed out due to rain on Tuesday, which has made their upcoming game a do-or-die encounter. A defeat will end their hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals.

England, however, will take confidence from their strong batting display in the last game. Lahore has been the best batting surface in the competition so far, which could provide relief for the Three Lions against Afghanistan’s quality spin attack.

The cloud cover will benefit England, who have quality fast bowlers in Jofra Archer and Mark Wood. Afghanistan’s struggles against South Africa’s pace attack in the last game could be further exposed in Lahore.
