ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Most runs, most wickets after semi-final 2, SA vs NZ

New Zealand defeated South Africa by 50 runs in the second semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
On Wednesday, March 5, New Zealand defeated South Africa by 50 runs in second semi-final of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. They will now face India in the tournament final on March 9 in Dubai.
Opting to bat first, New Zealand made full use of the favorable batting conditions and registered the highest score in Champions Trophy history – 362/6.
Rachin Ravindra (108) and Kane Williamson (102) scored centuries, while Glenn Phillips and Daryl Mitchell narrowly missed half-centuries, both making 49. Lungi Ngidi emerged as South Africa’s most successful bowler with three wickets.
In reply, Temba Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen built a 105-run partnership for the second wicket to give Proteas a solid start. However, they lost their way and slipped to 189/5.
Captain Mitchell Santner starred for New Zealand taking three key breakthroughs by dismissing Bavuma, van der Dussen, and Heinrich Klaasen.
David Miller batted till the end for South Africa, scoring an unbeaten 100 to reduce the margin of defeat to 50 runs.
ICC Champions Trophy: Most runs
England’s Ben Duckett leads the run-scorers’ chart with 227 runs in the tournament. Kiwi all-rounder Rachin Ravindra’s century today has moved him to second place with 226 runs.
Veteran England batsman Joe Root finished the tournament with 225 runs and currently holds the third spot. Indian stalwart Virat Kohli and Afghanistan youngster Ibrahim Zadran complete the list of top five with 217 and 216 runs respectively.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Most wickets
New Zealand speedster Matt Henry, who took two wickets in the game, leads the wicket-takers’ chart with 10 wickets. Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami is next with eight wickets to his name.
India’s Varun Chakaravarthy, New Zealand’s Mitchell Santner, and Australia’s Ben Dwarshuis complete the list of top five wicket-takers of the tournament with seven wickets each.
