The Group A clash of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 between Pakistan and Bangladesh was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

The ninth match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, a Group A clash between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Rawalpindi, ended without toss as rain played spoilsport.

The persistent rain prevented the toss from taking place, meaning both Pakistan and Bangladesh shared a point each.

The result, however, won’t have a major impact on the tournament as both teams were already eliminated from the semi-finals race. Pakistan and Bangladesh have finished their Champions Trophy 2025 campaign without a win and will need major changes to compete for the title in future ICC tournaments.

The abandoned game means both Bangladesh and Pakistan ended the tournament with just one point. Bangladesh secured third place in the group due to their superior NRR of -0.443 compared to the hosts Pakistan’s -1.087.

New Zealand and India hold the top two spots with four points each and will face off on March 2 in Dubai to decide the Group A leader.

In Group B, South Africa and Australia occupy the top two spots with three points each. Afghanistan’s win over England means they are third with two points and can still reach the semi-finals if they defeat Australia on February 28. England have zero points and are eliminated from the tournament.
