ICC awards ECB with the hosting rights of the next three ICC WTC finals in 2027, 2029 and 2031

The finals of the ICC WTC 2025-27, 2027-29, and 2029-31 cycles will be held in England.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) held its annual conference in Singapore. During the meeting, the governing body also finalised the venues for the finals of the next three editions of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC). The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have been awarded the hosting rights after their successful record in hosting the last three finals.
This means that England will host the finals of ICC WTC 2025-27, ICC WTC 2027-29, and ICC WTC 2029-31. Notably, the ECB also hosted the final of the ICC WTC 2019-21, which took place at the Rose Bowl, Southampton, between India and New Zealand.
The ICC WTC 2021-23 final took place at The Oval, London, between Australia and India. The ICC WTC 2023-25 final was played at the Lord’s between South Africa and Australia. The ICC WTC 2025-27 cycle is currently underway and will witness the final in June 2027.
Nine teams are part of ICC World Test Championship 2025-27
Like the previous three editions, nine teams are part of the ICC WTC 2025-27. South Africa are the defending champions of the tournament. They defeated Australia by five wickets in the ICC WTC 2023-25 final at the Lord’s.
England, India, Australia, South Africa, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, the West Indies, and Bangladesh are the nine teams part of the ICC WTC 2025-27. All these teams will play six bilateral test series over the next two years. Each team will play three home series and three away series.

The top two teams in the points table on the basis of win percentage will qualify for the ICC WTC 2025-27 final. Currently, Australia grab the top spot in the points table with a win percentage of 100.0. They recently won a test series against the West Indies by a margin of 3-0.
Sri Lanka and England grab the second and third spots, respectively. India and Bangladesh occupy the fourth and fifth spots, while the West Indies grab the sixth place. Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa are yet to begin their journey in ICC WTC 2025-27.
