Bangladesh also announced their 15-man final squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Bangladesh have unveiled their new look kit for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 which will begin in India on October 5, 2023. The tournament will feature 10 teams playing against one another once in the league stages.

The top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals which will be held in Kolkata and Mumbai and the winners of those knockout matches will play the final on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The opening match of the ICC World Cup will also be played at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi stadium with New Zealand taking on England on October 5.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh team unveiled their new look kit for the World Cup in a well-made video shared by the Bangladesh Cricket Board on social media. Bangladesh will head into the Cricket World Cup after a 2-0 loss in the ODI series against New Zealand at home.

Skipper Shakib Al Hasan and his teammates unboxed the brand-new kit that features green in prominence with shades of red on the front.

Before their tournament opener against Afghanistan on October 7, Bangladesh play two World Cup warm-up fixtures against Sri Lanka and England.

Tamim Iqbal misses out on World Cup 2023 squad as Bangladesh opts not to pick half-fit opener

Veteran opener Tamim Iqbal, who is the highest run-getter for Bangladesh in ODIs with almost 9000 runs in 243 ODIs with 14 centuries to his name, failed to make the cut for the marquee event as Bangladesh named their 15-man squad on September 26, 2023.

On September 23, Tamim scored 44 runs in the second one-day international against New Zealand, his first outing since changing his mind about retiring from international cricket in July. Additionally, a layoff due to an injury led him to miss the Asia Cup.

After the New Zealand game, Tamim disclosed that he was still experiencing some back pain, which the team's physios were attempting to alleviate. According to reports, Tamim told the selectors a few days ago that they should consider his back condition while choosing the final squad.

It was reported that skipper Shakib al Hasan had reservations regarding taking someone in his World Cup squad who was not fully fit.

Bangladesh squad for World Cup 2023: Shakib Al Hasan (c), Litton Das, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Tanzid Hasan, Towhid Hridoy, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehidy Hasan, Mahedi Hasan, Tanzim Sakib, Nasum Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman.
