IND vs AUS: Weather Forecast - Saturday, 8th October 2023, ICC Cricket World Cup 2023
Australia and India will play their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 opener at Chepauk.
Chepauk is ready to host the much anticipated India’s opening ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 clash against five-time world champions Australia. This high-voltage clash is set to create momentum for the mega event happening in India. On the eve of a big game between hosts Australia, rain and dark clouds have raised a little concern. Indian team’s preparations were also hit by severe rain in Trivandrum and Guwahati. Now once again, the heavy showers have interrupted India’s preparations for the big game.
Chennai will witness rain for the past 2-3 days, and on Sunday, a few showers have been predicted as well. A few journalists have reported from the ground that Chennai saw dark clouds building over the town just a day before the big game between India and Australia of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Harsha Bhogle tweeted, “Bucketing down in Chennai, very dark.” Chennai normally doesn’t see much rain at the start of the October month, but due to the late monsoon, untimely rain lashed out in various parts of the country.
Weather conditions in Chennai
The weather is likely to be hot in Chennai, with temperature rising to 32°C maximum during the toss and going down to 26°C minimum at the time the game concludes. Australia have better stats compared to team India at Chepauk. Australia have lost only one game at this venue and won six out of their seven ODI games. Chennai provides an extra advantage to spinners due to its soil. Chepauk stadium is a tough one to crack for power-hitters. Out of 23 ODIs, teams have gone beyond 300 runs total on just five occasions. Chasing is never an easy job at this wicket, as the dew factor is also considerably low compared to the other grounds. India defeated Australia in a recently concluded 3-match ODI series. India defeated Australia in Mohali and Indore and lost the final game played in Rajkot.
