ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: Most Runs, Most Wickets, after Final, IND vs AUS

Australia defeated India by 6 wickets in the finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 to win their sixth title.
It is never easy to overpower Australians when they play in the ICC tournament finals. Team India have once again tasted defeat against Australians in an ICC final and twice in the same year. After losing the World Test Championship in June 2023, India have now suffered a crushing defeat against Australia in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final played at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Travis Head once again came out as a hero and gave Kangaroos their second ICC title in just six months. Australia won their sixth World Cup title. Australia won the World Cups in 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007, and 2015 before decimating India at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Australian opener Travis Head scored 137 runs in 120 balls with 15 fours and 4 sixes. Australia chased down India’s 241-run target with ease. Australia did have a scare in the game when Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami took three early wickets inside the first powerplay. From there, Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne’s cool head added 192 runs for the 4th wicket to win the game for Australia.
Marnus Labuschagne scored 58 runs and 110 balls with four fours. Team India posted 240 runs on the board after a fighting knock from KL Rahul (66) in the middle overs. Captain Rohit Sharma had a terrific start, but he threw his wicket away. Australian captain Pat Cummins (2/34) was magnificent in his spell, along with Mitchell Starc (3/55).
ICC Cricket Word Cup 2023: Most Runs
Indian batting star Virat Kohli scored 54 runs in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final game against Australia. Virat ended as the leading run-scorer of this edition, with 765 runs in 11 innings. Virat Kohli became the only cricketer to score more than 700 runs in one World Cup edition. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma will be the second-leading run-scorer with 597 runs in 11 innings. Rohit scored 47 runs against Australia in the finals. South African wicket-keeper Quinton De Kock ended up as the third-leading run-scorer with 594 runs in 10 innings. De Kock smashed four centuries in his last ODI tournament. New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra is 4th on the list with 578 runs in 10 innings. Ravindra’s teammate Daryl Mitchell is 5th with 552 runs.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: Most Wickets
Mohammed Shami had a fantastic ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, and he finished the tournament as the leading wicket-taker with 24 wickets in just two games. Shami was magnificent throughout the mega event and took three five-wicket hauls in the seven innings he bowled. Shami’s 7-wicket spell against New Zealand is still fresh in everyone’s memory. Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa also had a fantastic tournament after a few initial failures. Zampa ended up being the second-leading wicket-taker with 23 wickets in 11 games. Sri Lankan pacer Dilshan Madushanka remains third in the table with 21 wickets. India’s ace bowler Jasprit Bumrah ends up 4th with 20 wickets in 11 games. South African Gerald Coetzee got 20 wickets in 11 matches and ended up 5th on the list.
