South Africa have thrashed defending champions England by a massive 229 runs at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. England were bundled out on just 170 runs in a chase of 400 runs at Wankhede Stadium. Reece Topley didn’t come out to bat due to an injury on his left-hand index finger.

South African top-order had a wonderful start against England, Reeza Hendricks (85) and Rassie van der Dussen (60) added 121 runs for the second wicket. Later on, Heinrich Klassen (109) and Marco Jansen (75) took South Africa’s score almost close to the 400 mark. Heinrich Klassen slammed his 4th ODI ton and showed one of the best masterclasses in power-hitting.

Klassen and Jansen added 151 runs for the 6th wicket. England’s batting failed miserably under a huge target pressure and England’s number 10 Mark Wood ended up as their top-scorer. Gerald Coetzee picked up 3 wickets for South Africa.
