In the 29th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, India took on defending champions England at Lucknow. England won the toss and chose to field first against India. India's batting got off to a shaky start, losing early wickets, but their captain, Rohit Sharma, took on the responsibility and played a remarkable innings, scoring 87 runs from 101 balls. With support from KL Rahul (39) and Suryakumar Yadav (49), India managed to post a total of 229/9 in their 50 overs.
Indian bowlers were exceptional, troubling England batsmen throughout the innings. Mohammed Shami took four wickets and Jasprit Bumrah took three wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav took two and Ravindra Jadeja chipped in with one wicket. England struggled to chase the target and were restricted to just 129 in 34.5 overs. With this win India have registered their sixth victory of the tournament.
