South Africa decimated New Zealand by 190 runs in match 32 of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

South Africa have decimated New Zealand at MCA Stadium in Pune in a one-sided encounter. South Africa have registered one of the biggest wins in ODI cricket as well as in the ICC Cricket World Cup. Batting first, South Africa posted 357 runs on the board. Quinton de Kock (114) and Rassie van der Dussen (133) played magical knocks to put South Africa in command against the Blackcaps. They added 200 runs for the second wicket. Quinton De Kock smashed his 4th century in the World Cup 2023. David Miller (53) also contributed nicely to the South African total.

New Zealand collapsed under pressure and their batting couldn’t even put up a challenging performance against the South African pacers. Marco Jansen (3 wickets) and Keshav Maharaj (4 wickets) put the Kiwis on the back foot. Only three Kiwi batters managed to score in double digits. With a big loss against South Africa, New Zealand have made their chances to qualify for the semifinals also come into doubt. Glenn Phillips played a fighting knock at the end to lesser the margin of South Africa's win. Phillips scored 60 runs in 50 balls.

South Africa have fixed their deserved place in the semifinal after their dominating win against New Zealand in Pune. South Africa decimated the Kiwis by 190 runs at MCA Stadium in Pune and went top of the table in the points table with 12 points in seven league games with a NRR of +2.290. New Zealand suffered their third consecutive defeat in the tournament.

New Zealand have slipped down a position and are now placed 4th in the points table with 8 points in seven league games with a NRR of +0.484. India are in second place with 12 points and a NRR of+1.405, and Australia are currently at 3rd spot in the table with 8 points and NRR of +0.970. England are languishing at the bottom with just two points. 

ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: Most Runs 

South African wicket-keeper Quinton De Kock has been in the form of his life in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Quinton De Kock with a magnificent century against New Zealand in Pune has bettered his lead at the top with 545 runs in seven innings in Cricket World Cup 2023.

Quinton De Kock also became the first ever South African to score above 500 runs in World Cup edition. New Zealander Rachin Ravindra is second on the list with 415 runs. Australian opener David Warner is 3rd in the table with 413 runs. Indian captain Rohit Sharma remains 4th with 398 runs, and South African vice-captain Aiden Markram is 5th with 362 runs.

Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa is leading the wicket-takers list with 16 wickets in six matches. Zampa had a troubled start to the mega event and came back nicely into the tournament with back-to-back great performances. Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi is 2nd in the tally with 16 wickets. Marco Jansen had a terrific game against New Zealand and picked up 3 wickets, he is currently the 3rd leading wicket-taker in this list with 16 wickets. Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is 4th in the table with 14 wickets in six games. New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Santner is 5th with 14 wickets.
