South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia will host ICC Cricket World Cup 2027.
Cricket South Africa on Saturday (23rd August) revealed the venues for ICC Cricket World Cup 2027. The announcement was alongside the formation of the tournament’s Local Organising Committee Board, which will be led by the former South African cabinet minister Trevor Manuel as an Independent.
ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 will be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. The tournament will be played in the second half of 2027, and ever since the last edition ended, there have been a lot of talks about the upcoming event, especially after India faced a heartbreaking loss in the final of the 2023 edition against Australia.
This will be the first time in two decades that South Africa will be hosting the ICC Cricket World Cup. The last time they hosted the event was in 2003, where Australia emerged as the winners by beating India in the final.
Since the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 is in South Africa, it will be a great opportunity for the Proteas to win the title at home. They will be high on confidence heading into the tournament as they recently ended their ICC title drought when they beat Australia in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 final.
