Ravindra Jadeja has taken four wickets in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 so far.

India coach Gautam Gambhir has heaped praise on all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final, scheduled for March 9 between India and New Zealand.

Jadeja has been a key player for India in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025, taking four wickets in as many games, at an impressive economy rate of 4.78.

The Dubai wicket has suited the Indian all-rounder, who relies on the pitch to offer some assistance in the middle overs. His role in the final will be even more crucial as the Kiwis have four right-handers – Will Young, Daryl Mitchell, Kane Williamson, and Glenn Phillips – in their batting order.

Gautam Gambhir hails unsung Ravindra Jadeja before ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final:

Speaking to the media before the tournament final, Gambhir highlighted Jadeja’s contribution to the Indian team, mentioning that he often goes under the radar.

Gambhir said, “I’ve always felt that Ravindra Jadeja has always gone under the radar. I think he’s someone who we don’t speak highly about. See what he’s done for Indian cricket. Be it test format, be it T20I format or in 50-over format. I think he’s very important to Indian cricket and what he’s done.

Not just with the bat or ball, in the field as well. He’s, I think, one of the top all-rounders going around in world cricket.

Gambhir expressed that the Indian dressing room understands the importance of Jadeja.

He added, “We, in the dressing room, know the value of Ravindra Jadeja. We feel that the importance of Jadeja is what it is in the dressing room and not what happens outside the dressing room.

Jadeja was the leading wicket-taker in the 2013 Champions Trophy with 12 wickets in five matches at an average of just 12.83.
