Virat Kohli was dismissed for just 11 runs against New Zealand in ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The final group stage match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 between India and New Zealand got underway in Dubai on Sunday, March 2.

The game also marks a special milestone for star Indian batter Virat Kohli, who is playing his 300th ODI match.

Talking about the match, New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and elected to bowl first. Both teams made one change coming into the game. Daryl Mitchell replaced Devon Conway for the Kiwis, while India brought in Varun Chakaravarthy as an extra spinner in place of Harshit Rana.

Batting first, India got off to a poor start, losing openers Shubman Gill (2) and Rohit Sharma (15) to slip to 22/2 in the sixth over.

The biggest blow for India, however, came in the seventh over when Glenn Phillips took a stunning catch to dismiss Kohli.

Kohli played a square cut to a delivery outside off stump, and the ball seemed to be racing for four. However, Phillips, who has made a habit of taking stunning catches, flew to his right and plucked the ball in mid-air with a full-length dive to send him back to the pavilion.

At the time of writing, India are in serious trouble at 35/3 in 9.3 overs. Shreyas Iyer (4) and Axar Patel (2) are at the crease for the Men in Blue and will look to rebuild the innings and guide India to a fighting total.

Winners of this game will face Australia in the semi-finals, while losers of this game will face South Africa.
