Daryl Mitchell scored 10 runs against Pakistan in the first match of ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The sixth match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, between Bangladesh and New Zealand, got underway in Rawalpindi on Monday, February 24.
The game holds special importance in the semi-finals race for Group A as a win for New Zealand would mean the Kiwis and India qualify for the semi-finals, while Pakistan and Bangladesh get knocked out of the competition. A Bangladesh win on the other hand will keep the semi-finals race alive.
New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and elected to field first, citing that the presence of dew under lights would make batting easier in the second innings. New Zealand are coming into this game after winning their first match of the tournament against Pakistan, while Bangladesh suffered a six-wicket defeat against India in Dubai.
Both teams have made two changes. Mahmudullah and Nahid Rana have replaced Soumya Sarkar and Tanzid Hasan for Bangladesh, while Kyle Jamieson and Rachin Ravindra have come in for Daryl Mitchell and Nathan Smith for New Zealand.

Santner confirmed at the toss that Rachin Ravindra has replaced Daryl Mitchell, who is not in the starting XI due to illness. Mitchell played in New Zealand’s first match of the tournament, where he was dismissed early for just 10 runs by Haris Rauf.
The change presents a great opportunity for Ravindra, who sustained an injury near his eye against Pakistan in Lahore during the Pakistan ODI Tri-series earlier in the month.
He has represented New Zealand in 29 ODIs and has a solid record with 970 runs at an average of 41, including three centuries and four half-centuries.
