Kuldeep Yadav conceded 42 runs in his 10 overs and ended up picking two wickets.

Australian batters have failed to put up a challenge against Indian spinners at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav have worked magic to put Australia on the back foot in their innings. Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bat first against India in their World Cup opener. Cummins’ plan failed miserably as the Australian batters looked stuck against Spinners.

Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav has continued his good run of form in the World Cup as well. Kuldeep after having a great Asia Cup 2023, has struck twice so far against Australia at Chepauk. Kuldeep Yadav dismissed David Warner when he was having a great partnership for the second wicket along with Steve Smith. Later on, he rattled Glenn Maxwell’s stump on the ground with his magnificent spin bowling.

Kuldeep pick two wickets in his spell

Glenn Maxwell was looking to break the shackles and get a few boundaries for Australia. But he completely looked out of place while trying to play a pull shot against Kuldeep. Kuldeep zipped through his leg stump and Maxwell had to walk back to the pavilion on just 15 runs. Maxwell’s wicket was a crucial one for India as he could have changed the momentum with his counter-attacking innings and taken Australia to a challenging total.

Kuldeep Yadav has kept the Australian batters under pressure with his bowling. Kuldeep has conceded just three boundaries in his 10 overs spell against Australia at Chepauk. He bowled 10 overs and ended up picking two wickets conceding just 42 runs in his full spell. Soon after Maxwell’s dismissal, Ravichandran Ashwin also picked up his first as he dismissed all-rounder Cameron Green (8).

Cameron Green was looking to play a cut shot and go past the point region for a boundary but his shot was caught at the backward point by Hardik Pandya. Ravindra Jadeja picked up 3 wickets in the middle order to rattle the Australian dream of scoring close to 270 which was a par score at Chepauk. Australia have got one spinner in their playing XI as Adam Zampa and that might play a crucial role in the game.
