PCB registered a complaint to ICC after India vs Pakistan ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match in Ahmedabad.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) lodged a formal complaint against the Ahmedabad crowd on Tuesday. PCB complained about the Ahmedabad crowd’s hostile behaviour towards Pakistan players during the India clash. Pakistan took on India on 14th October at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad in an ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 league game. ICC has now denied to takeany action on PCB’s complaint against the action of the Ahmedabad crowd.

Ahmedabad turned up in large numbers to cheer for their team and Narendra Modi Stadium was at its full capacity during the game. There were a few instances where the Ahmedabad crowd had overreacted to a certain situation and gone overboard mocking the Pakistan players. PCB without citing any example went to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and denied taking any action regarding PCB’s complaint as the Code of Conduct validates only on certain individuals and players.

Code of Conduct only on individuals

The International Cricket Council has explained the reason for not taking action as PCB’s complaint was regarding certain groups and ICC’s Code of Conduct does not apply to any of the groups representing freely. The ICC’s Code of Conduct is applied only to certain individuals and players. PCB has also informed ICC about the delay in the visa process for journalists and fans wanting to go and witness cricket’s biggest carnival.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Zaka Ashraf was also unhappy with a few incidents that occurred in the stadium. The PCB chief travelled to Ahmedabad to witness India vs Pakistan clash along with journalists who were having delays in getting their visas. Earlier, A source close to the PCB informed that Zaka Ashraf was having rigorous meetings with the officials regarding his visit to India and further decisions required in the matter.

Pakistan had a terrific start to their World Cup campaign but a big loss against India put them in a fix again. Pakistan will be next taking on five-time World Cup champions Australia at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Friday. Pakistan got an arousing welcome in Hyderabad when they landed after a 7 years gap in India. They also got a huge welcome in Ahmedabad and Bangalore as well during the World Cup.
