In what has been the latest development, as per the reports in Cricbuzz, it is learned that Pakistan players in Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan have been penalised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) over their gestures during the India clash in the Super Four stage of Asia Cup 2025.
Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan stole the limelight with their antics during the clash the India in the Super Four stage of Asia Cup 2025. They also copped with a lot of criticism over their gestures and saw many fans and experts calling for some strict action.
Haris Rauf, who was near the boundary ropes, was seen gesturing ‘6-0’ and the plane crash with his hands after the crowd mocked him with “Kohli Kohli” chants. His actions were linked to claims by the Pakistan Army, who claimed that they downed six Indian planes during the military battle between the two nations in April.
On the other hand, Sahibzada Farhan, after slamming a fifty, came up with the ‘gun celebration,’ mocking the Indian players, who refused to shake hands with Pakistan players also dedicated their win in the league stage to the Armed Forces. Following the gestures of Pakistan players, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) lodged an official complaint with ICC.
Haris Rauf fined 30% of his match fees for his plane crashing gesture against India

The reports claimed that both players were called for a hearing by the ICC and both were found guilty of a Level 1 offence under the Player Code of Conduct. Rauf was fined for his on-field act of plane crashing for bringing the game into disrepute. Some reports added that he has been fined 30% of his match fees.
Along with Haris and Farhan, team manager Naveed Cheema was also present at the hearing, conducted by Richie Richardson alongside Sally Higgins of the ICC. Also, it is learned that Suryakumar Yadav was fined 30% of his match fees as well for his comments after the game against Pakistan in the league stage of the Asia Cup.
All these players will be in action yet again as India and Pakistan have reached the final of Asia Cup 2025. The match will be played on 28th September in Dubai and it is expected to be a cracker of a clash as for the first time these two teams will meet in the final of the tournament.
