The South African batting unit just couldn’t get going, and eventually were bowled out for only 82 runs. Their highest scorer was Mieke van Voorst, who scored 23 and the next highest scorer in the innings was Jemma Botha with 16.
For India, Gongadi Trisha returned with terrific figures of 3/15. Three other bowlers – Parunika Sisodia, Aayushi Shukla, and Vaishnavi Sharma – took two wickets each.
The chase was made a breeze by opener Gongadi Trisha, who scored 44* runs off 33 balls, and No. 3 batter Sanika Chalke scored 26* off 22 balls. Chalke hit the winning boundary as India won by nine wickets and with more than eight overs to spare.
