ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 final, IND vs SA, took place at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai.
The thrilling ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 final between Indian Women Cricket Team and South Africa Women Cricket Team took place on Sunday, November 2 at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the clash to lift the trophy and script their name in the record books.
Talking about the game, South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt won the toss and opted to bowl first in the clash, which was delayed at the start due to rain. India Women made a brilliant start with the bat as openers Smriti Mandhana (45) and Shafali Verma (87) built an opening stand of 104 runs.
Later, Deepti Sharma (58) scored a half-century while Richa Ghosh added 24 runs to propel the scoreboard to 298/7. At one point, India Women were looking positive to cross the 350-run mark, however, South Africa bowlers did a fantastic job in the last 10 overs to restrict the opposition under the 300-run mark.
In the chase, South African openers Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits put up a decent stand of 51 runs within 10 overs. While other batters lost their wickets at the other end, Wolvaardt (101) hammered a century to put the Proteas Women in a dominating position.
However, following her dismissal in the 42nd over, South Africa Women could not hold their ground for long, eventually getting bowled out for 246 runs. Deepti Sharma, who scored a half-century earlier in the game, picked a spectacular five-wicket haul with the ball.

With a century in the final, South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt finished as the leading run-scorer of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 with 571 runs. Smriti Mandhana (434) and Ashleigh Gardner (328) are next in the list of batters with most runs in the tournament. Pratika Rawal (308) and Phoebe Litchfield (304) finished fourth and fifth respectively.
