Match 24 of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, IND vs NZ, took place at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai.
Indian Women Cricket Team outplayed New Zealand Women Cricket Team in the 24th match of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 on Thursday, October 23, winning the encounter by 53 runs. With the victory, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side became the fourth team to qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament, joining Australia Women, England Women, and South Africa Women.
Against New Zealand, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side piled up a mammoth total of 340/3 in the first innings after being asked to bat first. Smriti Mandhana (109) and Pratika Rawal (122) hammered magnificent centuries, etching an opening stand of 212 runs to set the stage for India’s big total.
Jemimah Rodriques added quick-fire unbeaten 76 runs, taking India past 330 runs. Due to rain, the match was reduced to 49 overs in the first innings and New Zealand were given a revised target of 325 runs in 44 overs due to DLS method.

New Zealand Women succumbed to the pressure in the chase, reaching 154/5 at one stage. Brooke Halliday (81) and Isabella Gaze (65*) hammered half-centuries, however, it wasn’t enough to take their team home. Reaching 271/8 in 44 overs, New Zealand Women lost the encounter by 53 runs.

India Women have qualified for the semi-finals after their victory against New Zealand in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. They grab the fourth spot in the points table with six points in six games and will clash with the first-place team in the semi-finals. Australia Women and South Africa Women steal the top two spots with 11 and 10 points respectively, followed by England Women at third place with nine points.
New Zealand Women and Sri Lanka Women occupy the fifth and sixth spots respectively, while Bangladesh Women and Pakistan Women languish at the last two spots. These four teams have been eliminated from the race to the semis. All the eight teams will play one more match in the tournament.
