Match No. 28 of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, IND vs BAN, ended without a result due to rain.

The league stage of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 concluded on Sunday, 26th October with the hosts, India Women, taking on their neighbours, Bangladesh Women, in a rain-marred encounter, which ended without a result. This was the story of the entire tournament as it saw a total of six games not producing a result due to rain.

Talking about the match, India Women won the toss and opted to field first. Due to rain, the game started two hours late with 43 overs allotted per side. However, after first 12 overs, rain interrupted the game again and the game was then shortened to 27 overs per side.

Bangladesh Women didn’t have a great outing with the bat as they managed to score 119/9 in 27 overs, courtest of 36 from Sharmin Akhter and 26 from Sobhana Mostary. For India Women, Radha Yadav was pick of the bowlers as she scalped three wickets. During the chase, Smriti Mandhana and Amanjot Kaur, who opened instead of injured Pratika Rawal, started off well, scoring 57/0 in 8.4 overs when it started to rain again. After that, no more play was possible and the match ended without a result and both the sides shared one point each.

After match No. 28 of the tournament between India Women and Bangladesh Women ended without a result, both sides shared a point each. India Women finished fourth in the league stage with three wins and three losses out of seven games. They earned a total of seven points and made it to the semi-finals, where they will face Australia Women. Bangladesh Women finished seventh with three points to their name. Their only win of the tournament came against Pakistan Women in their opening clash, who couldn’t win a single game.

Australia Women, who remained unbeaten in the league stage, finished at top with 13 points, while England Women follow them next with 11 points to their name. South Africa Women, who were the only team involved in all matches producing a result, finished third with five wins and 10 points. Sri Lanka and New Zealand Women finished with five and four points respectively to bow out of the tournament.

ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025: Most runs

Indian opener Smriti Mandhana, who scored 34* in the match, is currently the leading run-scorer of the tournament with 365 runs to her name. Her opening partner Pratika Rawal, who didn’t bat today due to injury, is second with 308 runs to her name.

South African captain Laura Wolvaardt occupies the third position with 301 runs to her name. Australian captain Alyssa Healy is up next with 294 runs in just four innings. New Zealand’s Sophie Devine, who retired from Women’s ODI cricket today, completes the list of top five highest run-scorers with 289 runs to her name.

Alana King, who picked a seven-wicket haul during Australia’s last league match, is at third spot with 13 wickets to her name. Up next are England’s Sophie Ecclestone and Linsey Smith with 12 wickets each.
