Australia Women clinched an impeccable victory against India Women in the 13th match of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. The defending champions outplayed the co-hosts by three wickets, chasing down a mammoth target of 331 runs.
After being asked to bat first, India Women piled 330/10 on the back of an outstanding opening partnership of 155 runs by Pratika Rawal (75) and Smriti Mandhana (80). With brilliant support from Harleen Deol (38), Jemmimah Rodrigues (33), and Richa Ghosh (32), the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side dominated the proceedings but failed to finish on a high.
While India Women looked favourites to win the encounter, having scored 330, Australia Women made mockery of the total in the chase. Captain Alyssa Healy (142) hammered a century to set the platform for victory.
Phoebe Litchfield (40), Ellyse Perry (47*), and Ashleigh Gardner (45) also made crucial contributions to take the team home with one over to spare. Notably, Australia Women also scripted the record for the highest-ever successful chase in WODI by beating India Women in the encounter.
