Matches moved out of Bengaluru as ICC announces revised schedule for ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025

ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 will be played from September 30 to November 2.
The International Cricket Council (ICC), on Friday, 22nd August, announced the revised schedule for the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai has replaced Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium as one of the venues for the tournament.
M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, which saw a stampede and people losing their lives following Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 title win celebrations, has been deemed unfit to host cricket matches. With the iconic venue losing rights to host the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 matches, now the matches originally scheduled at the venue have been moved to Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium.
A total of three league matches, one of the semi-finals and the final will be played at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium.
The other four venues of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 – ACA Stadium (Guwahati), Holkar Stadium (Indore), ACA-VDCA Stadium (Visakhapatnam) and R. Premadasa Stadium (Colombo, Sri Lanka) remain the same.
Notably, either Colombo or Navi Mumbai will host the final of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. Pakistan Women will play all of their matches at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. If they reach the semi-finals or final, the matches will be played at Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium.
Revised schedule of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025
Notably, M Chinnawamy Stadium saw a sad incident during RCB’s IPL title victory celebrations in June earlier this year. Due to a stampede, several people lost their lives while over 50 were injured.
