ICC World Test Championship 2025-27: Full schedule

ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 is all set to kick off with a series between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
The ICC World Test Championship (WTC) is all set to see the new edition after the 2023-25 cycle ended in an exciting way. South Africa Cricket Team finally had their hands on the trophy as they beat the Australian Cricket Team in the final at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.
The last edition of the WTC was host to a spectacular team efforts as well as individual brilliance. The upcoming cycle also presents similar kinds of opportunities for all the teams. With the kind of cricket that we saw in the last edition, it promises to be an enthralling new cycle.
The ICC WTC 2025-27 is all set to kick off next week. The new cycle of the tournament will begin with the test series between the Sri Lanka Cricket Team and the Bangladesh Cricket Team, starting 17th June at the Galle International Cricket Stadium in Galle.
All nine teams will be playing six series each, three home and three away, in the upcoming WTC 2025-27 cycle. The two teams that will finish at the top of the points table will play the final, as it happened in the previous three cycles.
The ICC WTC 2025-27 will see a total of 71 matches, and the Australian Cricket Team will be playing the most number of games. The Pat Cummins-led side will play 22 games along with England Cricket Team, who will be featuring in 21 matches. The two teams will be squaring off with each other in the Ashes later this year.
Indian Cricket Team will be playing 18 games in the ICC WTC 2025-27 and will begin their campaign against England in a five-test series, starting 20th June at the Headingley in Leeds. They have reached the finals twice but haven’t had the taste of a trophy yet.
Defending champions South Africa will begin their campaign with a two-match test series against Pakistan in October. Their first home test series in this edition will come in September 2026 when they will host Australia.
