Ihsanullah had announced his retirement from the PSL on January 14.

Pakistan speedster Ihsanullah has reversed his retirement decision from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) just hours after making the shocking announcement on Tuesday.

Earlier, in an interview with Public News, the 22-year-old announced his boycott and retirement from the league after going unsold in the PSL 10 draft. Ihsanullah expressed that while he aspires to play for Pakistan, he intends to earn his place through domestic performances rather than relying on the PSL.

The right-arm pacer responded to Multan Sultans’ owner Ali Tareen, stating that he can bowl at 150-160 km/h and will prove that he is not the same bowler who was injured a couple of seasons ago.

I announced the decision yesterday in emotions: Ihsanullah reverses PSL retirement in less than 24 hours

As quoted by ARY News, Ihsanullah has now completely reversed his retirement decision, stating that he made the call in the heat of the moment and that his friends and family had influenced his thinking after he went unsold in the PSL.

He said, “There’s no plan for retirement, I announced the decision yesterday in emotions. When I wasn’t picked in the PSL draft, my friends & family also messed with my head and I announced retirement in the heat of the moment.

Ihsanullah made his PSL debut for Multan Sultans in 2022. The right-arm pacer took 23 wickets in 14 games in the tournament at an average of 16 and an economy rate of 7.55. He was one of the quickest Pakistani bowler in the league.

His outstanding performance in the league earned him a spot in the Pakistan squad, and he made his T20I debut against Afghanistan in March 2023 at Sharjah.

He has taken six wickets so far, all in T20Is, across five international matches—four T20Is and one ODI. He has yet to play test cricket for Pakistan.
