IPL 2023: 'I'll come to dance at your wedding', Shah Rukh Khan promised Rinku Singh after chase vs GT

KKR's Rinku Singh has earned the reputation of a top-class finisher in this IPL season.

Kolkata Knight Riders' Rinku Singh became an overnight sensation after his unparalleled chase against Gujarat Titans. Known for playing little cameos, Rinku Singh smashed 5 consecutive sixes in the last over against Gujarat Titans to chase down 29 runs in the last over. Rinku's effort brought him into the limelight and he became a star-like figure overnight. Rinku had been repeating the same performance with his bat for KKR time and again and he had earned the reputation of being one of the star finishers in T20 cricket. After his magical performance against the Titans, He had a chat with KKR owner Shah Rukh Khan. He made a promise to Rinku Singh after his match-winning knock.

A humble man from Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh, Rinku Singh revealed that SRK has promised something special. Rinku Singh said, “Sir called me after that (Titans chase). He was talking about my wedding, SRK said, people call me for their marriage, I don’t go. "Mein teri shadi me nachne aaunga (I will come to dance at your wedding)”.  Rinku Singh has so far scored 251 runs in the IPL 2023 in 8 innings. He also scored two half-centuries in this season. Rinku has been smashing boundaries at ease and right now his batting looks confident. He also contributes with a few great saves in fielding.

Left-hand batter Rinku smashed 18 runs in 10 balls with 2 fours and a six against Royal Challengers Bangalore at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. His cameo helped KKR touch 200 runs mark in the game. RCB lost the game by 21 runs, and Rinku and David Wiese's (12) cameo proved the match-winner for Kolkata Knight Riders at the end. KKR are in 7th place in the points table with 6 points in 8 games.
