ILT20: Top five most expensive players in International League T20 history

ILT20 conducted its first player auction ahead of the 2025-26 season.
In recent years, several cricket-playing nations have launched their own franchise T20 leagues, which have gained considerable popularity among cricket fans worldwide. International League T20 (ILT20) is one such franchise league, conducted by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The first edition of this tournament was held in 2023, and there have been three seasons of it so far. In the first three editions, players were picked through a draft system, where they were handed undisclosed contracts.
Ahead of the 2025-26 edition, the organisers switched to an auction system instead of the draft system. Hence, the inaugural players’ auction was conducted ahead of the 2025-26 edition, which is scheduled to commence in December 2025.
The auction took place on October 1, 2025, with the six franchises bidding for over 300 players. On that note, below are the top five most expensive players of ILT20.

5. Muhammad Rohid- MI Emirates (USD 1,40,000)
Muhammad Rohid takes the fifth spot on this list. MI Emirates picked the left-arm pacer from the UAE for USD 1,40,000 in the ILT20 2025-26 auction.
4. Liam Dawson- Gulf Giants (USD 170,000)

Getting USD 170,000 by the Gulf Giants in the auction, Liam Dawson became the fourth most expensive player in the tournament. The bowling all-rounder has played four tests, six ODIs, and 21 T20Is for England so far.
3. Junaid Siddique- Sharjah Warriorz (USD 170,000)
Junaid Siddique is a right-arm pacer from the UAE. Sharjah Warriorz shelled out USD 1,70,000 to grab him into their squad, making him the third most expensive player in the auction.
2. Scott Currie- Dubai Capitals (USD 250,000)
Scott Currie is a bowling all-rounder from England and has featured in three ODIs for the national side. Dubai Capitals did not shy away from spending a million on the England youngster and shelled out 2,50,000 for him in the auction.
1. Andre Fletcher- MI Emirates (USD 260,000)
Andre Fletcher grabbed a whopping amount of USD 2,60,000 in the ILT20 2025-26 auction, becoming the most expensive player in the tournament’s history. MI Emirates bought the West Indies wicket-keeper batter to strengthen their line-up.
