Former South African spinner Imran Tahir won the CPL 2023 for Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Former South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir has led his Caribbean Premier League side, Guyana Amazon Warriors, to title victory in CPL season 11. Imran Tahir bowled magnificently in the knockout rounds of CPL season 11 and picked up five wickets in two games. Guyana Amazon Warriors defeated Trinibago Knight Riders by nine wickets in the finals played at Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Imran Tahir’s reaction gave a clear sign that this victory will always remain special for him in his career, and he also thanked Ravi Ashwin. Tahir added, “Many thanks to Ravi Ashwin. Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss and invited Trinibago Knight Riders to bat first. On a turning wicket, the batters failed miserably to score, and Knight Riders were bundled out on just 94 runs. Keacy Carty was the leading runs scorer with 38 runs in Knight Riders innings. Player of the match Dwaine Pretorious picked up four wickets in his four overs. Imran Tahir conceded only eight runs in his four overs and picked up two wickets.

Along with Imran Tahir, left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie also bowled a magnificent spell. Motie conceded seven runs in his four overs and picked up a wicket. Tahir ended up in the CPL 2023 as the second-leading wicket-taker. Imran Tahir picked up 18 wickets in 12 innings this season.
