IND vs AUS 5th T20I Bengaluru: Who won which award ?
IND vs AUS five-match T20I series came to an end with India winning the series 4-1.
In a thrilling culmination to the T20I series between India and Australia, the 5th T20I in Bengaluru showcased a brilliant clash which ended with India winning. With India already sealing the series 3-1, entered the contest with the intent to further assert their dominance. The hosts set a challenging target of 161 runs, courtesy of Shreyas Iyer’s brilliant knock of 53 runs and valuable contributions from other batsmen.
Australia fought fiercely to get the IND vs AUS series close. Ben McDermott’s 54-run innings kept the visitors in the hunt, but tight bowling from Arshdeep Singh, Mukesh Kumar, and Ravi Bishnoi secured a narrow victory for India. The match culminated with India emerging triumphant by a margin of six runs, adding another feather to their cap in what has been a highly successful series.
Man of the Match award: IND vs AUS
Axar Patel emerged as the standout performer in the 5th T20I, earning the Player of the Match award for his stellar all-round display. With the bat, he showcased remarkable skills, scoring 31 runs off 21 balls at a blazing strike rate of 147.62. His explosive innings played a crucial role in India’s total.
In the bowling department, Axar Patel delivered a masterclass, taking three wickets while conceding just 14 runs at an economical rate of 3.50. His exceptional performance left an indelible mark on the game, propelling India to victory.
Axar Patel, reflecting on the match, said, “Today was fun. There was dew in the first four matches. Today, it was a tailor-made wicket for me. After a couple of games, I was able to find my rhythm. (Bowling with Ravi Bishnoi) We played a few games together for Gujarat as well. We complement each other, hope this partnership grows.”
Patel highlighted the enjoyable nature of the game, noting that the absence of dew in the fifth match provided a favourable condition for him. He expressed that the wicket was well-suited to his style of play.
Man of the Series award: IND vs AUS
Ravi Bishnoi’s stellar performances earned him the prestigious Player of the Series title, culminating in a standout display in the 5th T20I, where he secured 2 wickets for 29 runs in 4 overs at an impressive economy of 7.20. Throughout the five-game series, Bishnoi notched up a total of nine wickets, establishing himself as a pivotal force in India’s bowling lineup.
Bishnoi, explained, “The first match, I didn’t bowl. I just focused on my execution. My plan is simple – bowl stump-to-stump. (On South Africa series) Different wicket, different challenge, will try to adapt as quickly as I can.”
Ravi Bishnoi highlighted about his focus on his execution and keeping his plans simple. He also touched upon adapting to conditions quickly.
Shreyas Iyer won SBI award for his brilliant performance in the match for his 2 brilliant catches and his stellar performance with the bat, he scored 53 runs off 37 balls which included 5 boundaries and 2 sixes.
