Australia will face India on Sunday in the second T20I match in Trivandrum.

Australia couldn’t convert a good score into a winning one in the first T20I match against India in Vishakhapatnam. Despite the fastest ton from Josh Inglis and a target of 209, they lost the game. Hence, they will have to look into some areas before the second game. Australia will face India in the second game on Sunday.

This match will be played at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Australia will be looking to add their key players who were rested in the first game, like Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, and Adam Zampa. So let’s check out the predicted playing XI for Australia for the second T20I on Sunday.

IND vs AUS: Australia’s Predicted playing XI vs India

1. Travis Head :

World Cup hero Travis Head is likely to make his comeback after being rested in the first game. This will give the team a huge boost at the top. He can demolish the bowling attack like he did in the finals of the World Cup. Head will look to continue his form.

2. Steve Smith :

Steve Smith scored a decent fifty in the first game and made 52 off 41 balls. His form will be very important because he is looking to play in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Hence, this series will decide a lot about his future in the shorter format. He will be a big wicket because he can set the platform for the other power-hitters around.

3. Josh Inglis :

Josh Inglis is coming off a record-breaking ton in the first game. Though it ended in a losing cause, the way he took on Indian bowlers was commendable. He will be a confident man heading into the second game and will be a big threat because his quick knock can put pressure on Indians, especially in chase.

4. Glenn Maxwell :

Glenn Maxwell is expected to be back and play in the second game. It will be a confidence booster for the middle-order batters because Maxwell can be the most destructive batter on either side. He will be looking to get into the game and make an impact. Apart from his batting, he will be a handy spinner as well.

5. Marcus Stoinis :

Marcus Stoinis will be another crucial player with bat and ball. The all-rounder bowled in the powerplay in the first game and looked decent. His power-hitting will be another aspect that Australia will be looking for. Stoinis can be the game-changer on his day, which will be expected of him by his team.

6. Tim David :

Tim David looked a bit rusty in the first game, but he is a big striker of the ball and definitely a player to look out for. David can single-handedly take the game away if he starts hitting the ball, which will be in India’s mind. If they can dismiss him early, that will be pretty good for the hosts.

7. Matthew Wade (c & wk) :

Australian skipper Matthew Wade didn’t have much to do in the first game, but we all know how impactful he can be in the final overs. His cameos have helped Australia in this format, and he can be a big wicket in the chase. The skipper will look to deliver a good performance to take his team to victory on Sunday.

8. Sean Abbott :

Sean Abbott was expensive during the game and ended up with 1/43. But he is a better bowler than that, which he showed during the ODI series ahead of the World Cup. Abbott can decieve the batters with his different types of slower ones, which is his wicket-taking ball. And not to forget, if he gets a chance, he can hit the ball miles.

9. Kane Richardson :

Veteran pacer Kane Richardson might be playing in place of Nathan Ellis, who had a bad game. Richardson has been a seasonal campaigner and has performed in various leagues across the world. He is a good death bowler, which might help Australia as they leaked runs in the final overs. So he can be a good addition for the coming game.

10. Jason Behrendorff :

Jason Behrendorff was the best bowler on either side in the first game. He bowled a maiden in the game where runs were scored over 10 rpo. He also took the important wicket of Suryakumar, who was playing well. Behrendorff’s stock balls and knuckle ones were very effective, and he can make a difference in the game.

11. Tanveer Sangha :

Tanveer Sangha had a bad game because Ishan Kishan took one and smashed him for sixes and fours. But he ended up well with 2/47. He will look to do well in the second game and bowl in the right area to pick up a few wickets. His role will be very important in the middle overs, which will decide which way the game is heading.
