IND vs AUS: Most runs, most wickets after 1st test, Perth, BGT 2024-25

India won the first IND vs AUS test in Perth by 295 runs.
Indian Cricket Team have started the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 in an emphatic fashion defeating Australia by 295 runs in the first test match of the five-match test series. This defeat in Optus Stadium marks Australia’s first loss at the venue.
India, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, suffered a batting collapse, getting bundled out for just 150 runs. The Indian bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah staged a dramatic comeback for the visitors bowling out Australia for the score of just 104 runs in the first innings.
The Asian giants strengthened their dominance in the second innings by posting a massive score of 487/6 in the second innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal (161) and KL Rahul (77) laid the foundation for India stitching a 201-run partnership for the first wicket before Virat Kohli scored his 30th test ton.
Australia showed more fight in the second innings with Travis Head leading the charge for the hosts with a score of 89. However, they couldn’t continue the momentum, bundling out for 238 runs to lose the game by 295 runs
IND vs AUS 2024: Most Runs
On the back of his brilliant hundred in the second innings, young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal leads the runs chart with 161 runs. Following him on this list is star Indian batter Virat Kohli 105 runs, Kohli led India’s charge in the second innings with his impressive ton.
KL Rahul’s gritty 77 in the second innings has propelled him to the third spot with 103 runs in the test, while Australian middle-order batter Travis Head follows him with 100 runs. Debutant Nitish Reddy with 79 runs in the game rounds off this list.

IND vs AUS: Most Wickets
India’s captain for the game, Jasprit Bumrah tops the wicket-takers leaderboard with eight wickets, thanks to the brilliant fifer that came on the second day of the test. Following him on this list in the second position is Australian speedster, Josh Hazlewood, with five wickets in the game.
Bumrah’s partner Mohammed Siraj occupies the third spot with five wickets in the game while debutant Harshit Rana and Australia’s senior pro Mitchell Marsh round off the list with four and three wickets respectively.
