The second IND vs AUS ODI took place at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide on October 23.

Indian Cricket Team and Australian Cricket Team clashed in the second ODI of three-match series on Thursday, October 23 at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide. The Men in Yellow crushed India by two wickets in the nail-biting encounter to win the three-match series 2-0, with one more game left in the series.

Australia captain Mitchell Marsh won the toss for the second time in a row and opted to bowl first in the clash. India faced two big setbacks at the start, losing captain Shubman Gill (9) and Virat Kohli (0) cheaply to Xavier Bartlett in the seventh over. Kohli was gone for a duck for the second consecutive time in the series.

Rohit Sharma struggled to score runs at the start, however, he eventually slammed 73 runs off 97 deliveries to make a decent comeback with his form. Adding 118 runs with Shreyas Iyer for the third wicket, Sharma helped the team to recover from the early blows. Iyer added 61 runs off 77 deliveries and Axar Patel hit 44 runs, with both of them playing a crucial role in the middle-overs.

With quickfire unbeaten 24 runs by tailender Harshit Rana toward the end, the Men in Blue piled up 264/9 in the first innings. Adam Zampa clinched a fabulous four-wicket haul for Australia, while Bartlett captured three wickets in his kitty.

During the chase, Australia openers Mitchell Marsh (11) and Travis Head (28) failed to get going. However, No. 3 Matthew Short hammered a stunning knock of 74 runs, taking the scoreboard to 187/5 before losing his wicket in the 36th over.

Cooper Connolly then carried the innings forward with his half-century, scoring unbeaten unbeaten 61 runs to bring the team home by two wickets in the 47th over. Indian bowlers tried their best efforts to bowl out the Aussies towards the end, however, they failed to get the last two wickets.

With his marvellous knock of 74 runs in the encounter, Matthew Short has become the leading run-scorer of the three-match series with 82 runs. Rohit Sharma, with his 73-run knock, is next with 81 runs in his kitty. Axar Patel (75), Shreyas Iyer (72), and Cooper Connolly (61) follow next.
