India, who didn’t make any changes to their playing XI, piled up 167/8 with a top knock by opener Shubman Gill (46). Shivam Dube (22), Suryakumar Yadav (20) and Axar Patel (21*) played valuable hands in what were tough conditions to bat. Nathan Ellis and Adam Zampa, with three wickets each, emerged as big hurdles for Indian batters.

In the chase, the Men in Yellow came up with a powerful start, reaching 48 runs for the loss of one wicket in the powerplay overs. Axar Patel gave the first two blows to the opposition, dismissing Matthew Short (25) and Josh Inglis (12). Washington Sundar clinched three wickets to dismantle Australian batters.

Losing key batters like Josh Phillippe (10), Tim David (14), Glenn Maxwell (2), and Marcus Stoinis (17) cheaply, Australia lost the momentum in the chase. Eventually, they were bowled out for 119 in the 19th over, losing the clash by 48 runs.
