Australia’s second-innings batting was a story of two halves—a top-order collapse followed by a late fightback from Marnus Labuschagne, Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, and Scott Boland. The hosts amassed 234 runs to set India a target of 340 runs.
During the chase, India faced an early collapse, reaching lunch at 33/3. Jaiswal and Pant led resistance for the visitors, combining for 88 runs for the fourth wicket, but Pant’s rash dismissal against part-timer Travis Head triggered another collapse.
