The 2nd IND vs BAN test at Green Park had a delayed start.

The 2nd IND vs BAN test got underway at Green Park in Kanpur on Thursday morning, but the match had a delayed start of one hour. That was because of a wet outfield, which was caused by the overnight rain.

On the morning of the match, the ground staff had kept the majority of the ground under cover to prevent it from any rain before the start of play. Yet, there was a wet patch near the boundary line that caused the delayed start.

The toss took place at 10:00 AM and the match kicked off at 10:30 AM. Then, rain arrived at around 12:30 PM just as the players began to walk back for lunch at the end of the first session.

Meanwhile, India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first. This is the first time since 2015 that an Indian captain opted to field after winning the toss in a home test match.
