However, Indian openers Abhishek Sharma (74) and Shubman Gill (47) etched a spectacular stand of 105 runs to set the stage for India’s comfortable victory.

On the other hand, Bangladesh, led by Litton Das, finished at the second spot in the group B points table to seal a place in the Super Four round. During the group stage, they defeated Hong Kong and Afghanistan but lost to Sri Lanka.
However, they gave a big blow to Sri Lanka in their first match of the Super Four round, crushing them by four wickets in a thrilling clash. Opting to bowl first, the Litton Das-led side restricted Sri Lanka to 168/7 in the first innings. Later, Saif Hassan (61) and Towhid Hridoy (58) hammered fifties to propel Bangladesh to victory.
