Abhishek Sharma smashed 135 off 54 deliveries in the 5th T20I against England.

India beat England by 150 runs in the fifth T20I in Mumbai to win the five-match series 4-1.

If there was any doubt about who the better team in the series was, India, led by Abhishek Sharma’s explosive 135 off 54 balls, put it to rest with a dominant 150-run win on Sunday.

Despite losing Sanju Samson early in the second over, India posted a record 95 runs in the powerplay. Abhishek was in a different zone, scoring a half-century off 17 balls before reaching the second-fastest T20I century for India in just 37 deliveries.

Since making his T20I debut in July 2024, Abhishek has already scored two centuries in his short career. He has almost secured his spot in India’s squad for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

The southpaw has now credited former Indian all-rounder and his mentor Yuvraj Singh for his success on the international stage.

Speaking to the media after his blistering century, Abhishek credited Yuvraj Singh for his success on the international stage, saying that he has always believed in him.

Abhishek said, “They (Yuvraj and Punjab coach Wasim Jaffer) have played a major role in my cricketing career and they are going to continue doing that. But as I have said before, it is all because of him (Yuvraj),

He added, “Yuvi paaji was the one to believe in me, and when someone like Yuvraj Singh is telling you that you are going to play for the country and you are going to win the games, obviously you try to think that ‘okay I will play for India and I will do my best’,

When asked about his preparation, Abhishek said that Yuvraj’s mentorship has helped him understand the game better.

He explained, “The focus was very much clear (during practice). Yuvi Paaji put all these things in my mind three or four years back.
